INNOVATION

This project focused on redefining mascara packaging for Max Factor, with an emphasis on delivering bold lash volume and standout shelf appeal. Our goal was to create packaging that not only looked iconic but also enhanced product performance—setting the brand apart in an oversaturated market.

A core part of the development involved designing and prototyping a series of innovative brush head geometries. We moved beyond conventional applicators, exploring unique bristle patterns, materials, and brush shapes tailored to different volumizing, lengthening, and curling effects. Each concept was tested to evaluate how brush design could optimize formula pickup, lash separation, and precision application.

In addition to the applicator innovation, the pack forms were designed to highlight key formula attributes in new and engaging ways—whether through translucent elements, color accents, or tactile finishes. Every detail was crafted to align with Max Factor’s legacy of glamour and innovation while pushing the brand forward.

The result is a set of mascara designs that blend technical functionality with a strong visual identity—making a statement both on the shelf and in the hand.
