LIQUID LIPSTICK
PACK DEVELOPMENT
This industrial design project focused on developing a new generation of lip product packaging for Max Factor, with the goal of visually and functionally reinforcing the brand's promise of volume and plumpness.
The brief called for bold differentiation in a competitive market, and the approach was twofold: to create distinctive new pack forms that convey lip-enhancing benefits, and to reimagine how key formula attributes—such as color, finish, or active ingredients—could be displayed in more innovative, immediate POP solutions.
We explored a range of structural packaging concepts that would elevate shelf presence while enhancing usability. In parallel, we redesigned the traditional doe-foot applicator, experimenting with unique materials and sculpted head geometries. Each applicator variation was prototyped and tested, focusing on improving precision, glide, and volumizing effect through ergonomic contours that hug the natural shape of the lips.
These new designs aim to position Max Factor as a packaging leader within the beauty space—blending aesthetic innovation with performance-driven features that consumers can see and feel.
